Dave is described as “a bass player’s bass player”. Artists hire him again and again for his professionalism and preparation – and especially because Dave understands how to be a part of an ensemble that supports the artist and the vision they have for their music.
From his earliest days picking up a bass in school and playing along with every Top 40 song on the radio through his time at the Berklee College of Music and Oakland University jazz departments, Dave has honed his skills in all styles of music from Big Band and Funk to Country, Jazz and more. Dave is in demand as the go-to musician for many wonderful and creative artists.
Born an Englishman by Dutch / Vietnamese parents, Dave has had a passion for banging everything going since he was a teenager.
Dave has been producing for Ann Arbor, MI songwriter Rebecca Olivier. Here a a couple of samples of some of the work they have been doing recently.
Children’s book authors Barry Gavel and Jesse Tack called on Dave to produce a children’s song to go along with their book, “Barn Dance”. The book and the song ”All Together” performed by a group of talented young people collectively known as “Raspberry Jam” is available in book stores all over Michigan.
Dave produced as well as wrote much of the material on Randy Brock’s CD “All I Need”. If you’ve never heard or seen Randy Brock perform, put that on your to do list. Randy’s guitar playing is a crowd pleaser wherever he plays.
